Kevin R. Hershberger
Kevin R. Hershberger is an Emmy-nominated television director who is excited to return to his first love, historical feature films. As a graduate of the Virginia Military Institute and a former United States Army intelligence officer, he has always appreciated stories of the common soldier. He has a passion for historical accuracy and attention to detail, knowing it’s the small details that bring history to life and help audiences connect with the people in the past. Aidan M. Close
“The Youth” Henry Fleming is brought to life by Aidan M. Close. "I am absolutely honored to be part of a project with as much resonance as The Red Badge of Courage." Aidan's background lies predominantly in Shakespeare, studying at Boston University, the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, and Prague Shakespeare Company. He is best known for originating the role of Avery in Ally Sass’s brilliant new play, Incels and Other Myths. He currently plays Scorpius Malfoy in the North American tour of “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.”
Scott Wichmann
“The Loud Soldier” Tom Wilson is played by Scott Wichmann - a character actor known best for his abilities as a physical comedian and a solo show performer. A Graduate of the nationally renowned Wagner College Theatre Program, Scott can be seen in Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln. He is also a Chief Petty Officer (CPO) in the United States Navy Reserve.
Matthew Blake Rogers
“The Tall Soldier” Jim Conklin is played by Matthew Blake Rogers, known for his roles in Believe (2016) and Artists (2015). A Birmingham, Alabama native and former Paratrooper in the U.S. Army, he also played General Nathaniel Greene in the series Legends & Lies: The Patriots.
David Russell
The filmmakers have worked with David Glen Russell on all of their previous film projects, including Wicked Spring. Oddly enough, Kevin and David first met in 1994, when David was the music director and additional music composer for the world premiere of the stage musical Red Badge, adapted and directed by Randy Strawderman.
Since then, David has worked on multiple features and TV series, and most recently with Lucasfilm, Ltd. as a composer. He has provided music for the 2015 video game Star Wars Rebels: Recon Missions as well as multiple Star Wars television series, including The Clone Wars, Rebels, The Bad Batch, Tales of the Jedi, and most recently Ahsoka.
